To become a certified CATIA V5 Mechanical Design Specialist you need to pass the CATIA V5 Part Design exam and the CATIA V5 Assembly Design exam.

CATIA V5 Part Design

As a certified CATIA Part Designer, you have proven your knowledge and skills with CATIA modeling techniques after initial training and a minimum of three months of regular practice using CATIA.


This exam proposes hands-on problem sets focusing on modeling and modification of basic, intermediate and advanced parts. Understanding of drafting principles is assessed in multiple-choice questions.

  • Basic and dress-up features such as pads, pockets, shafts, fillets, chamfers, pattern
  • Analysis and modification of the geometry, sketch offset, materials, measures, mass properties
